    Re: 2013 corvette

I was prepared when I ordered my 2012 ZR1, I bought the assembly picture book from the NCM, well worth the money to see all the exact detail of the build, start to finish, if only the '67 had come with that...oh well, in 40 years somebody will know it all.

      Re: 2013 corvette

So with a build date 8/24/12; Why would a new car dealer still have a car in his inventory that was built 10 months ago? Is it possible this car sat at GM all this time and the dealer took the car in an effort to closeout the 2013 model year? I thought dealers had a very short time frame to pay the General after taking receipt of a car.

Punctuation makes all the difference in the world. That colon makes it clear. I guess I could have looked at the VIS for my Z06, but it is stashed away.

You are right. I believe they have to pay by the end of the month in which they take delivery -- at least that was what it was 43 years ago. All that asside I know of cases in which dealers had unsold cars on "floor plan" for over a year. My daughter bought a 2003 Malibu Max in 2006. It was a brand new car.
