Yesterday, my '67 L71 ran beautifully. Had so much fun driving it. This am, it turned over fine, but no start. Was able to smell gas. Pulled a spark plug to see if it was fouled, looked fine. Checked for a spark and found NO SPARK! It has the original, rebuilt TI distributor. What could it be? I hope it's a simple fix. I'm not too mechanically inclined (yet). But if it's simple and someone could walk me thru it, I'll give it a try. THANKS!!!

Re: NO SPARK...please help
First check and make sure your TI module is grounded, then check and be sure the connection from distributor to TI wiring is secure, if you have an original TI wiring harness (runs from dist to module) it may be time for a replacement as the wires may be brittle. Let it sit over night and allow the TI module to cool off - if it starts and runs then the module is failing. If the module is original it may have problems and require replacement - if this is the case I would suggest R&R with a new TI board from Paragon or another vendor rather than a NOS module - these are very simple to swap out --- other than the TI side check rotor and cap and be sure proper contact is being made - you may also want to search this forum and the "other" forum for solutions.- Top

Re: NO SPARK...please help
Sounds like an electrical matter, I would start by checking to insure at wires at tight; at coil, starter, dist., etc; then connect a tester, ground the end to anything and stick the point to elect connections to insure power is flowing. This is sorta the standard place to start with electrical problems; it will tell you if elect power is flowing to start car; good luck.Dr. George

Re: NO SPARK...please help
If all the wiring connections are OK then the culprit may be the Pole piece in the distributor. Often times they cause the symptom you have but the car will run fine the next day.
Good luck w/ it. Dave Fiedler is the guy.- Top
