63 Front carpet shrinkage

I purchased a carpet set for my 63 conv at Corvette Carlisle around 1990 and finally got it installed last year after restoration. I noticed that the front set didn't quite come up to the door sill plates. I asked a venor at the show this past August and they said the carpets shrink if you don't install them right away..or within a reasonabile period(not 20 plus years). Is there anything I can do to salvage the front set without rippinh them out and having a new set installed for another $200 plus labor?

Just purchase the two side sections you need, try Knoch Also check to see if there exist enough carpet at the bottom to move up a little.
