    Take off Hubcaps

    Hi
Is there a method to take off the Hubcaps without falling back, bloody fingers, scratched paints
Some special tools maybe homemade or...

    Regards

I usually just wrap a long handled screwdriver with a shop rag and pry them off. I go slowly and twist the screwdriver and they come right off.

The original tire iron has a nice tang on the end designed for that purpose. It works quite nicely. It slides under the lip and lifts without scratching.

          Jorn:

This inexpensive tool is what I use for my '65 wheelcovers. Should work just as well on a C1, I would think.
Used properly, it won't dent the edge when reinstalling.

Jorn: To prevent scuffing the wheel paint, polish up the tool surface that contacts the wheel. Mike
