    71 Dim Headlight

Hi Everyone - I have one headlight (low beam) that is very dim. Is it the light or maybe a connection? Thanks

Could be either. There are many connections. You could throw parts at it (replace with a known good bulb); or you could learn to check for voltage drop. This is a handy skill to learn. I guess it depends on whether you are into automotive repair for the long haul, or if this is a one time thing. Try googling "voltage drop" and see if you want to take it on.

      Pete,

Check both your ground connection and the connections to the back of the headlights. Make sure they are clean and tight.

And to add to Dennis' comment, add some dielectric grease to the bulb contacts to help prevent further corrosion.

One time when I reconnected my low beam T3 bulb, one of the prongs on the bulb didn't make it into the socket and it put out a real low level light. Once I figured out what I did, the light worked fine. Randy C.
