    PLEASE READ Site hacked (again)

Our site is constantly under attack of hackers and we are still fighting them big time so last night we again were confronted by a situation forcing us to decide to shut down the site and we are currently restoring the site step by step and part by part from the backup of the 22nd of July.

We recommend anyone to ensure your virus scanners are up to date and running and to install MalWare detection software like MalewareBytes (use google for download links of this free software) and run a full scan to ensure your PC is properly protected since one of the aims of these hackers is to infect visitors of our website with Malware...

    sorry for the inconvenience,
    NCRS IT Team
    Rob.

Our IT Guys, Rob, John and Gary, have worked tirelessly to fix this latest hack. I am aware of some of the problems they faced in bringing the system back; the fix was not easy. Thanks for your hard work!!

Many thanks for working on this problem. Can't understand what a hacker enjoys about messing with websites such as this. They should get a REAL job!!!!

          Stephen,

Unfortunately, it is OUR MEMBERS who are mainly at fault! As Rob indicated, EVERYONE needs to ensure they have up-to-date anti-virus, malware, etc. on your own systems and religiously update them and scan them. Most hacks on websites such as ours are through "bots".

They are making a #$%@ load of money by hijacking PC's as bots and servers as Control Centers and renting these out to spammers, fishers, etc...

They got through on one of my computers too. Cost me $419.99 to fix yesterday through AOL/Microsoft Techs. It took them nearly 3 hours to fix. They said the hackers were from both Nigeria and the Philippines. Thought I had good protection, but I guess not. It's been a couple of years since I last downloaded Malware protection software. Told the wife "no more opening attachments"!

Suffice to say that anyone who visited this site on Monday (July 29th) morning prior to the take down and DIDN'T get a virus warning similar to this one:

Unsure if a website is legit? Read our simple guide to website safety and learn how to identify fake sites.

is probably running an unprotected computer and may in fact have contributed to the hacking. Given the large number of FREE top quality anti-virus programs out there and that they can all be set up to self-update and self-scan on a regular basis, there's no excuse.

Mikey hit it on the nose! Folks who visited are NOW INFECTED if they were not protected, and if they have visited again without protection.........

Good to know, I just got it because it was thin, light, and had a long battery life....

Thank you Rob and all who keep our site safe.

The Apple Store people tell me MACs also need antivirus even though there are few virus for Apple.

                            Ray,

For your and other Mac owners peace of mind, you can download and install ClamAV, which is the best available for you

Thanks for the tip. I hope it is not as debilitating as the virus software the PCs run. The last PC I had, 3 years ago, took over 25 minutes just to boot up due to the McAfee stuff (always uploading/downloading stuff and scanning, etc.), and many times had to be forced closed (battery disconnected) as it would not shutdown from Windows mode. I came to think the virus software was probably worse than most viruses about slowing down your computer. That's what I like about the MacBook, it boots up in 1 minute and shuts down just as fast.
