    Re: Site hacked (again)

The most inportant deterrent for virus' is to create a new user account and restrict what it can do and use that account for ALL internet access. A virus, once infected, uses the rights of the account you were using at the time of infection. If you, like most of us, are using the admin account that came with the computer then the virus can wreak havoc with your PC. If your user account does not have rights to your registry, for instance, then the virus won't be able to make any changes to the registry. Since taking my own advice, I have not had a serious infection, yes lots of malware that is easily cleaned with SuperAntiSpyware.

Does anybody have any experience with the paid SuperAntiSpyware prevention feature? Does it work?

SHAME ON EVERYONE if you are using ADMIN account for everything on your computer! No wonder, people are getting everything under the sun loaded on their computers.

The Admin account on the newer Mac Lion system, is the same as Standard used to be on older op systems. It alerts you and requires you to fill in a password every time anything at all changes on your computer. My Mac gurus say no need to create another account anymore.

          Michael,

Very true for you and other who are running Mac and/or Linux machines - but Windoze is a very different animal and folks need to be running a separate account or ensure they are asked for a password every time they want to logon to their computer, which most folks are TOO LAZY to do.

I've been running Symantec End Point Protection for the last four years on 76 PCs at work (both Windows XP and Windows 7) and haven't had even one virus or malware attack on any of the PCs during that time.
