I was wondering if anyone could say for sure if these handles were identical for these years or if they varied from the beginning to the end? I just noticed that I should replace both of mine so I'd like to know if I need to be looking for 69 era replacements or if any will do up to 82. The car will be judged so they will have to pass judging for a 69. Thanks.

Re: 69-82 Outer Door Handles
Greg, I brought a couple of nos ones a few years back when I restored my 72. About the only difference is the original handles do not have a painted pockets (the area where the handle recedes). It is a silver paint. just take some acetone to remove the paint. You will note the chrome under the paint is rather thin, I believe the factory was that way. The judges will take a look generally for paint under the handles. Just had my 72 judged at our regional meet and judges liked the absence of paint, Its a small detail, but was noticed.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 69-82 Outer Door Handles
Thanks Edward, So are the handles all the same from 69-82 then? Do you remember what you paid for your NOS ones? From what I can see they can run close to $200 each which I think is a little steep if they really cover all those years. Maybe I'm just cheap!- Top
