    Weatherstrip for a '96 Convertible

    1. Should I pay more than double for OEM vs. repro?
    2. If I go with Repro, does anyone have any suggestions on which vendor/manufacturer I should consider? Corvette Rubber seems to have good reputation
    3. Does anyone have any bad experiences with any particular brand?

    Thanx,

Pay more for OEM if you can afford it

Are you talking about the windshield SEAL or the A-pillar weatherstrip? I can't figure out why the A-pillar weatherstrip would need to be replaced if the windshield is replaced.

Floyd . I replaced more weatherstrips on those cars than I can count . It was a very poor design and even poorer construction .It will self destruct when removed . There were a few versions of this weatherstrip made over the years but all were very poor quality, most only lasted about a year . We replaced a few more than once while still under warranty . The only ones worse were the Iroc style Camaros and the Cavalier conv. For $130.00 I would at least look at the repro. if it sucks return it . If you find a nos one check the corners for splits .

I bought some NOS for my B pillow and it was just junk. I think willcox has source for USA made weatherstripping reproduction.

Thank you gentlemen. You are confirming the consensus I have read on various forums.

Does anyone have experience with the weatherstripping products from Corvette Rubber? They seem to have a good reputation.
