    Chevrolets stolen

There was a 1957 Bel-Air, two 1961 Chevrolet convertibles, and a 1962 Corvette stolen at Monterey Classic Car Week. The owner of the Corvette said he did not think the engine was started, or he would have heard it from the bed and breakfast he was staying at. I guess it is good to keep collector cars in patrolled areas. Ken

I think in these times of high dollars for collector cars the best thing is never to let the car out of your sight. Next year at Monterey owners could set up an owners security watch, not hired security that could be spotters for the thieves.

There never seems to be anybody caught and the cars don't get found either.

This is what I have seen used on many trailers with cars, and the cars themselves, along with taking the coil wire with you:

The Parking Boot would be a deterrent for an amateur opportunist, but the pros Will use a wheel dolly and tow truck to get around the parking boot.

We travel alot and use a wireless motion detector first put steering wheel lock so they have to get in car to remove. I put detector on floor facing seat. Take responder to our room. It does alert up to 3 stories up for sure. Only cost about $65. Worth looking into. Got mine at northern tools

I prefer a Claymore mine under the dash (not ment to be funny). Understand gas caps were again the item of choice at Carlisle. Saw several cars with rags stuffed into gas filler.
