For those who make a Camaro comparison about the rear, check the 2014 Camaro tail light change. Perhaps there was some Corvette Engineer influence.

Stu, I was at the same seminar at Carlisle. I was standing next to the engineers during their presentation. From my vantage point looking up into the grandstands it looked more like 80% for the rear end design and 20% against. It was pretty overwhelimngly supportive IMO and based on the reactions of the engineers to the show of hands. It was an excellent presentation. How many designers and engineers take the time to do such a presentation and Q&A from the enthusiasts? Well done and I love the car and the rear end.

Good observation, and a real change for GM and Corvette from the first days of the C4, when people seemed critical of the design and engineering, at that time the brass just said, "Then don't buy it".

i love the look of the 2014 and have been saying if i can get into it like my mid years i may take the plunge and buy one. i have 2 fake hips and the 68's on up are difficult to get in and out of. well friday did it my 260 lb son and i sat side by side with plenty of room and i got in and out easily. i vote for round tail lights.

Thanks for the great write-up Duke, and to think I just spent all this time and money building this'67, I could have had this 2014! Hmmm, maybe I can talk the wife into getting a new car

FWIW, If I had to come up with a complaint about it I guess I'd have to go with my gut feeling or impression if you will; to me the styling appears very "busy", not unlike a product one might see from either Toyota or Nissan. I've been told that Japanese cars were designed with a lot of "bling" so as to impress the viewer up close. This was based on the premise that the streets in Japan are very narrow and, therefore, most people will view a car from up close - unlike here in the States where we have a lot of wide open spaces and many views of a car will be from more of a distance.

Squint your eyes just a bit while looking at one and recall the looks of a Datsun 280Z coupe, or several other Toyota sport models. For that matter, you might be able to see some of their newer sport offerings.

Scott, let me take that old fashioned '67 off your hands. But would first read WSJ article, quoted by Michael Johnson above, testing the 2014, and liking it, but stating that the C2 is a classic for the ages.

Chevy displayed 6-7 '14 Corvettes, including the convertible at the Monterey Reunion last month. Although they were locked - which was silly - they looked gorgeous - even better in person than in the pix. A fleet of them did exhibition laps at lunchtime and even though they were doing 80 or more, they swooshed by almost silently as they negotiated turn 5 on rails. IMO it's a major advance for our favorite marque given the engineering, exterior styling, and interior upgrades. The front end is pure Ferrari (for me a very good thing) and the overall look has a supercar presence that the C6 (my '11 included) lacked. At $70-75K, most other supercars are at least double or triple the price. Can't wait to get my hands on one!
