    Hank

The unpainted areas of this shroud appear to be a similar shade of gray that I recall. Also 1 question the other item I now recall that the outer finish was smother over all then the 119 black shrouds. Is that the way your shroud is?

What shroud is on the car? I'm interested in finding the correct combination for my car so if you'd be OK with it I'd be OK with sending you my 014 extension to see if it fits on the 015 shroud. Might just shed light on the correct shroud/extension combo for a LS-5 w/ A/C car.

According to the additional research I've done, GM says that the GM #3974015 shroud was used for all 1970-72 Corvettes with LS-5 and C-60. The 3974015 was discontinued in 1973 and replaced by the GM #331869 and shortly thereafter by the GM #339175.

Lynn, I will see if I can see a part number on the shroud that is on my car and let you know.

Lynn, the one on my car is a 3970415 also. Number visible from underside when car on lift. The only difference between it and the one I purchased, which is not on a ca, is the color of the finish. The one on my car is darker and the one I sent photos of is lighter.

Lynn, just took another look and my extension for the 4015 shroud is a 4014 extension. Part number on bottom right side. So those two match up. Paul, I can't tell much difference in the smoothness of finish. The light gray is a solid looking finish and the darker has swirls or somewhat visible fiber glass strands below surface.

Well I guess if you have the 015 shroud and the 014 extension and they match I guess that takes care of that. Guess I'm looking for a shroud or some feedback on the 119 shroud, 089 extension combo and tipped fan combo. If the fan clears that combo then perhaps finding an 089 extension is an option. Thanks to all.

Took some photos of my service replacement PN 3956119 shroud and original shroud extension. However, I'm having difficulty posting them. I would have taken off the fan to remove the extension and confirm the number on that part, but with no battery (vehicle is in storage), I couldn't turn the engine over to get at all of the fan bolts. The texture and color of the shroud and extension seem to match. The fit seems to be perfect. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I don't recall having any difficulty getting the two parts to fit together properly.

I'll be very interested to know the part number of the extension when you can get to it.
