    Odd Interior on C-1

In a current thread on CF noting George Maharis' 85th birthday, there appears a photograph of a C-1 with a most unusual interior:
I can't remember ever seeing one where the seat and dash covering were one color and the instrument surround, console, and grab handle area were body color. Perhaps something done especially for television?
Not trying to steal any thunder from the original poster without whose picture the question would never have come up, but I have gotten no reply to my inquiry on CF and am hoping for an informed answer from the NCRS.

My guess it was a one off for TV probably because it was shot in black and white and they wanted some contrast between the dash cover and the surround. When I was a kid the TV show "The Mod Squad" had a 1972 Dodge Challenger featured in it. I knew at the time Chrysler didn't build such a car, the convertible was discontinued in 1971. Turns out decades later I find that they CC actually built 2 for the show. The same thing was true about another show called "Mannix". Joe drove a '72 & '73 Cuda that you could not buy from Chrysler.

Here is what the above shot would look like in Black & White. Had the dash surround been the same color as the dash cover it would have just been a dark gray blob that blended into to foot wells.

Picture taken at one of the $$$$-maiking events of the the 90s (?); far more likely that the car was owned by someone who was NOT into "restoration" but into "personalization"; WAY SHORT of setting off the chase for the "one-off" '62

haha...I didn't catch that MM and GM appear much older than they did in the original show. Thanks for pointing that out.
