engine pad stamping

Were the numbers on a January 1960 engine block pad primarily individually stamped? Investigating a project, and the vin number appears to be all separate stamps (6 hits) The Flint F and date appear gang stamped (1 hit), the engine code appears as 2 individual letters (2 hits). Reasonable?

If you go to the C1registry.com they have several pictures of 1960 engine pads. But the answer to your question is they were gang stamped.

They didn't use a gang holder for the VIN stamp until April 1960. The OP's individually stamped VIN is correct. The assembly stamp including engine code should be gang stamped.
