I just saw a video of the Corvette SS. In the video they tell you the Corvette SS was a lab on wheels. This car resembles nothing of what a Corvette was made like. Was it ever used to introduce new ideas or was it just a show car? Does it still exist?

The car was donated by Zora to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in '75. It is still there. If you ever get the chance stop by and see it. It made a brief race appearance at Sebring '57. It was restored years ago for the Corvette Tribute at Monterey. Zora once said they "played" with some ideas but most were too expensive for a production car, but he wanted to go racing anyway. He said it got him thinking about doing the GS. A tube framed, magnesium bodied street Corvette would have been interesting, and very expensive.
