I bought a repo steering wheel last month . I ordered the repo bolt kit(insted of rivits) from CC. They recommend to chamfer down the inter circle on repo steering wheels. Are the any tips from those who mounted a repo on a C1 ?

Re: 1957 steering wheel
Dana I recently did two of them using repro wheels. I did not have to chamfer the center hole at all. I'm thinking the early reproduction wheels had that issue, and now it's not a problem. The wheels fit over the hub covers just fine on these.
The real trick is getting a nut driver or socket in the back to tighten the nuts. I add one rivet-screw at a time, after applying a dab of Blue thread locker to the threads of the screw. Then add the washer and nut, loosely. After all are installed I have a old nut driver I ground down on the OD. This makes it a bit thinner to tighten the nuts without binding on the side of the inner hub.

Nice! Glad it worked. Some folks just use slotted machine screws but at angles you can see them. I like the rivet screws. This is the one I did a few weeks ago. RichAttached Files- Top
