Its time for a first oil change post rebuild. Will there be good drainage with the front up on ramps or jack stands, or should all four corners be on jack stands, or does it matter? Going to go with the shell Rotella T, they have it at Sams. I noticed on the forum this is a recommended oil, also noticed it is recommended for diesel motors as well. What makes a diesel oil different from a passenger car oil, the zinc content? Thanks

The oil will drain just fine with the front on jack stands. The oil drain plug for all 1969 engines, big block and small block alike, was on the rear of the oil pan.
Diesel oil has quite a few differences from gasoline engine oil. A higher zinc content is just one of the differences. In the case of Shell Rotella, it is rated for BOTH diesel and gasoline service. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
