Price for a hood with hole cut for hi-rise intake

Hi all,

I want to try out a Cheetah intake on my '60, but the dual air meters stick past the hood. What would a used hood go for that already has such a cutout?

If you are just trying out a hi-rise manifold, why bother putting a hood on the car? Engine should run just fine without a hood.

If I like it, I'll probably run it next driving season. So, can anyone suggest a fair price for a hood already with a hole in it? I'd think they would be way less than an intact hood, but I've never even had occasion to price an intact hood.

My opinion is that a hood "pre-cut" for modified induction systems should be almost totally a BUYER'S MARKET. Basically, I think that such a hood is really near worthless------ like maybe 50 bucks, MAXIMUM. I'd look for one locally as the major cost for such a hood should be having it shipped to you. I should be clear that this is for a BARE hood, without hardware (hinges, latches, etc.). Those items would add to the value of the hood if they're included but you probably don't need them.
