    C1 Steel wheels

C1 wheels - need some guidance on original C1 steel wheels. I want to make sure I buy the correct and closest to the originals as I can. I understand there are several fakes out there and I need some help to understand what I am looking for. I know the wheel is solid steel 15x5 in size but that is it - help. thanks.

    Specifically what year?
There were several 15" X 5" wheel variations used from 1953 to 1962.

Eric, the judging manual for your year will have a good description of your model year wheels. As David said, it is dependent upon year. There has been much discussion of wheels on the TDB. A search of this site will probably give you your info.

Please note the photo of dog bone openings on the 1956 Wheel. Then look at the 1960 "no dog bones" wheels in white. Pay attention to the "extra ripple" on the front of the center part of the white Corvette wheel. Compare that shape with a 1956 passenger car rim ("baby" blue with an old white wall tire) Learn the difference between the passenger car wheels and Corvette wheel's center section shapes.

Send me an e-mail for added details. Tom D.
