1965 Bright Blue Carpet - Darker Than in The Past?

    photo.JPG
We are preparing a 1965 396 coupe for the regional here inFrisco, TX next week.

Al Knoch has said repeatedly that the NCRS decided that thecarpet for the C2 bright blue should be darker than what we have seen in thepast and they have changed there carpet because of it.

What does anyone know about this? It is obviously darker thatn anything I have seen before, althought the edging is still the same color as in the past and matches the traditional color of the carpet.

Just purchased complete Al Knock interior in bright blue for my '66 roadster at Carlisle. Does not look like that color.

Just dug out some photos of '65 #21083, an A/C equipped CV that I bought from the widow of the original owner - always garaged, with 34K miles; photos of the carpet (trim code 414B) would be a dead ringer for the LIGHTER colored carpet in your photo.

I can`t comment on `65, but the darker color is more correct for 67 and probably 66.

My suggestion to you is call or email the team leader,

I agree with Dick, contact your judging chair. Our opinions don't carry much weight. Your judging chair will be happy to help.

If I read this correctly, according to Al Knoch, he changed the color per the NCRS Team Leader/someone? I would submit that this is a classic case of a 66/7 input affecting 1965 information that is totally out of place. Please remember that your chances of a response from a Team Leader on this Board are slim and none, and Slim died in 1974.
