    1957 Corvette Grill

How much difference is there between the reproduction grill and the originals? Are the repros spot on?
Trying to decided which is the best way to go buy reproduction or rechrome the original. Also any fit issue with the reproduction?

If your asking about the grill oval, by all means re-chrome the original. The cost to re-chrome will be about the same as the price of the reproduction, however, the original will fit. The reproduction will not, not even close.

Hi Gary, Ed's answer to you is on the money. Use and original over a repro any day.Dave

Thanks for the info on the oval, but would like to know about the teeth.

Gary on Sept 9 Troy Pyles started a thread on C1 Grill Teeth Woes. Plenty of good info there. Just go a little further through the threads and you will see it Dave

I've never had an issue with the repro grill ovals. But then again I fit them and every bumper part to the car while doing the body work. Seems like my original ovals are always damaged in some way and need more than just rechroming. Thus the advantage of the repros for me so far.

Had no problems with the plated brass repo($pricey$), it flexes a little just like the original width wise, fit was excellent, a pound heavier than original & earned me two TF blue ribbons on the 57. hope that info helps a little...........
