69 Qtr Panel Extension

I am putting new interior in my 69 Coupe. Corvette America sales a Qtr Panel Extension but I'm not sure that the 69 had an extension to cover up the shoulder belt rear compartment mounts. Can anyone help clear up this issue. Thanks much!

1969 shoulder belts mount in a different location and would not be covered by the extension found on 1970-up. If I recall, there is a separate vinyl cover over the 1969 mounting which causes difficulty in the opening of the storage compartment doors. (Probably why the mounting location was moved)

There is a vinyl cover over the belt case. So, for Judging purpose, no separate extenion that hides the belt mounting case would be on 69 cars, only 70 and above?

That is correct, Phillip. Original 1969 panels were also vinyl wrapped, not plastic as most repros are.

Thanks Reba, so the extension that Corvette America sales was not actually used on 69 cars to hide the shoulder belt mounted in the rear storage compartment.

Thanks for the picture, I greatly appreciate. This is what I would call a Qtr Panels. In the Corvette America catolog they show, what they call Qtr panel extensions, which covers the shoulder belt mounts in the rear compartment and the shoulder belt feeds thru. Because my car did not have one when I purchased it , I just wanted to make sure I did not need. Again, I believe their book is in error,or just selling products for that year that was not installed for that year.
