Do i have the original key for my 1964 coupe?

I have just punched out the center of blank key i have for mu car and then i thought of the key that came with the car when i bought it back in 1993

It says the following on the key: For general motor cars USA. USA is on top of the key

The key is made of brass. Do i have the original key?
Thinking that it does not say General Motors i doubt it

That is what i thought. Looking at correct blanks it says: "Your key to greater value", with GM in the middle of the key and a B a bit down on the key

One other spare key i have says: "Your key to greater value"and on the other side of the key it says: "Briggs & Stratton Corporation, Milwaukee, WIS. U.S.A"
Is this a correct repro keys?

What you describe for your spare key (with the Briggs & Stratton name and address on one side) is what is correct.

I don't recommend repro key blanks, as the one and only time I've dealt with them for the first time a few months I found they don't work as well as NOS key blanks. My measurements of the repro blanks showed differences in dimensions of the grooves which make the repro keys not operate smoothly. Original NOS blanks can be found.

Claus, Pete L. in your post above may have the keys you need. He made my keys for my 63. Can't beat the price and quality great guy.

Some time ago I had some vintage Chevrolet/Corvette ignition keys that said CORP or CORPORATE on them. Have you seen any like that?

Joe - Yes, I have seen & even have some of those keys, but to the best of my knowledge they were not OEM keys for 53 & up Corvettes or other GM cars. Pete
