Hi everyone, Is it easier to install the entire assembly at one time ot should the surrond go on and then the teeth? Need to get my work done behind it such as horns and wiring but I was wondering. Thanks as usual. Guy.

Re: 54 grille installation
get your wiring in and your horns in
there is one clip in the center of the rad support - that holds the wiring up
put the grill oval in
put the vertical black bars in
then the center bar
then I put the middle teeth in and work your way out
buy a soft pad vise grip - one with pads on it
you might have to squeeze the center bar - ever sooooo slightly to get the teeth in....
That is how I do it
I have seen other put the teeth and center bar in as an assy - I am sure it is hard to make line up.....
Take your time....
I also lay down tape on the entire grill oval so not to scratch something
have handy a magnet - cuz you will drop nuts and washers.....1954 Corvette #3803 - Top Flight 2012, Bloomington Gold 2012,

Re: 54 grille installation
I install the oval, then the black verticle bars, then the bar assembly with all the teeth attached. It's a little tight to install the washers and nuts on the studs between the teeth, but I've done it that way for years.- Top

Re: 54 grille installation
Guy, I have always done it like Chris for my '57, sometimes outside teeth to then to the center. For one reason my hands do not fit between the teeth very well and tooth by tooth install on the installed bar is not as heavy to lift.

Re: 54 grille installation
The reason I dont do the bar and teeth as an assembly is - I cant get the teeth assy to line up with the bars without a struggle.....
not to say it cant be done....
