Could someone explain the Z51 constraint on the 2014s? It isn't clear to me what is occurring.

Re: Z51 Constraint on the 2014s
Go on the C7, CF forum. Lots of info there. This forum really isn't the correct one.
Basically GM is not revelling what items they are short on to build Z51. It has been on constraint for weeks. There are still constraints on the competition seats, and I think the carbon fiber roof and dash.Steve L

Re: Z51 Constraint on the 2014s
You can NOT currently order the Z51 option, as demand has way out paced the supply. In case anyone does NOT kow the following is what is included in the Z51 option
The Z51 Performance Package (available on 1LT, 2LT or 3LT), elevates Corvette Stingray to its top performance level. This package includes:
- larger 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels
- dry sump oil system
- Electronic Limited Slip Differential
- larger front brakes (13.6 inch vs. 12.6 inch) with black calipers
- specific shocks, springs and stabilizer bars
- differential and transmission cooling
- unique Aero Package that reduces lift for high-speed stability
- Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP summer-only tires (DISCLOSURE) that are aggressively tuned to provide outstanding handling, grip and road-holding capability
- available Magnetic Selective Ride Control and Performance Traction Management
- HD Cooling
- Slotted Brake Rotors
- Performance Gear Ratios

That is where I first began seeing the "constraint" issue without an actual explanation of what it meant.

Re: Z51 Constraint on the 2014s
The constraint is basically a limit of the cars that can be ordered. Current demand has exceeded the build schedule for the time being. If you dealer has sufficient allocation, he should be able to order a Z51. I placed 6 new orders today for next weeks allocation and four of the 6 were Z51 cars. I was also able to order the new competition sport seats on two units. In simple terms a constraint works like a red light in traffic. If there are 100 cars stopped a red light, only a few get to go when the light turns green. Everybody that wants to go doesn't get to go. On the next light cycle, more get through. Just like Corvette order cycles. Make sense ?? I hope so. I sometimes can't figure it out and I've been doing it forever.Tom Hendricks
