Does the glove box light shield need to be original for no deducts, or is repro ok for judging?

John
Your entire car can be built from repro parts, from the frame, wheels and tires, to the body panels and top, and every part in between and it is OK for judging. The deducts are determined based upon how similar to or dissimilar to original parts your repro parts appear. Degree of original appearance is determined based upon configuration, date, completeness, installation and finish. So,,, if the light shield you use closely matches an original, you will not suffer any deduct in judging and you will be OK.- Top

Re: 67 glove box light shield
Judging manual does not specify, but there are lots of things not covered there. Like how would one know the glove box key cannot come out if half turned for ops check? I had been told at Texas regional they had an o stamped on the if original shield. Just not sure if it shows and can be seen when judged. I do not have an original one, so asking on the forum what I need to be correct.- Top

Re: 67 glove box light shield
John,
In my experience with 67 interior judges at Nationals, they do look for the "O" on the glove box light shield, as well as the "P" on the glove box striker, and do make a minor deduct if not present.
Both the "O" and the "P" are in the Judging Guide.
Take a look at the first archived thread below for pictures of the shield and striker with the above letters.Jerry Fuccillo
