In restoring what seems to be an orginial 69 coupe, I need to replace both side windows. In reading both glasses I found the following. The right side glass is an inside read and etched on the inside. Along with the date XV it has M74. The left side glass is also an inside read, but it is etched on the outside. It has the XV date code but has DOT 15 M74. Is this correct for the car? In addition, would the front glass be an inside read with the etching on the inside? Thanks for any help!

Re: 69 Side window glass
Phil,
You will find the date codes for ALL your glass in your copy of the 1968-69 TIM&JG. Those codes can be up to one year BEFORE the body build (from the trim tag on the driver's side A pillar).
I don't think it matters if the etching is on the inside or outside of the side glass, but every original windshield I have seen has the etching on the inside.Terry- Top

Re: 69 Side window glass
Terry, I know the date codes, but was wondering why the one glass was etched on the outside and the other on the insde. Also, the dot 15 before the M74 was different than the other side glass. This is not discussed in the JGM Thanks- Top
