    C1 Jack Handle Spoon End

As you jack equipment gurus probably know, the GM drawing for the 53-60 jack handle do not call for a spoon shaped end. But apparently that's what the manufacturer made as the JG calls it out as a key feature.

The photos I've seen of the "spoon end" in the JG really aren't that great and I'd like to see a good close up in focus so I know what to look for and can help identify the repro from the original.

Anyone have a good photo to share?

Very good, Dave. Do you happen to have a shot of the other side?

That looks EXACTLY like what came with my 56 when I bought it in 73!
To the BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE (key words: BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE) the jack and handle that are in the car now are the ones that were placed in it at the St. Louis assembly line.

I had to do a separate post to add the rivet.

Wonderful! Doesn't get better than that. Thanks for your help.

Now if we only knew what the intent of the spoon end was. The end shown in the GM drawing, which was more of a right angle, would have worked better. My 56 Chevy truck had the right angled end and it was handy to lock into the slot on the jack to drag the jack around under the truck to get aligned with the chassis rail. Don't think we'll be dragging around C1 jacks though.

62 C1 jacks o have a right angle. also coarse thread, also a coarse thread shaft that made the car harder and quicker to lift, and a welded-on base that was prone to removing itself rom the jack when used. Probably was 20 cents cheaper to produce. it as not a better jack, in spite o the 90-degree end on the handle. That might have been the only improvement.
