I am restoring a 1971 350/270 convertible. When I removed the splash shields I found writing behind them on the fiberglass. #58 on the PS and the letters PB on the DS. Does anyone know what this is?

Re: 71 restoration
I'm a C2 guy, but they have the same markings - the "58" is the Body Shop Job Number, used for production scheduling the unit, and the "PB" identifies the cowl & dash subassembly as requiring additional operations to accommodate the power brake option.- Top

Re: 71 restoration
58 is the job number and it might have an additional digit in front of it (i.e., 158). Sometimes the toe kick number was in "shorthand." PB indicates the firewall has been configured for power brakes.

I have a similar PB power brake marking on my 68. Very similar handwriting as well.- Top
