Re: "Latest" Reproduction T 3 Headlights.

Chuck, I just bought a LL T3 set for a '61. (same type '60-'67). I'll open the box and check when I get in the garage this morning. I also have a LL T3 set for my '59 in a box I bought >5 years ago. I'll check those too.

BTW, I've had 4 Halogens in my '59 since 1986 when I bought the car. I've logged likely 25% of my drives in the evening with lights on in the last 27 years of ownership with no modifications or relays. Original Delco light switch never trips it's circuit breaker. If the breaker was designed to trip if there's a overcurrent condition at the light circuit, it never has tripped to this day, so I would consider by design, it's good.

However, just installed a NAPA Wagner Halogen set in a '60, and the cheap repro made in Mexico light switch trips every 5 seconds. Put in a NOS Delco switch.....fine!

also, I recall seeing the T3 repro specs recently and surprised their current draw is quite high, much more than original T3's, and close to the Halogens IIRC. Can't recall where I saw that right now.

      Chuck,
I've got a set of the LL T-3's on both cars. I like to drive mine (as you do) and these are a must for safety at night over the old T-3's. The "DOT" markings are on them, but tiny in size and you can't see them unless you are right up close and looking for them. No brainer, get the LL repro T-3's and never look back. Cheers Dan

New box of 60-67 T3's have the

        D
        O
        T

vertically in lower left front on both H & L beams, viewed facing the lamps. So do my '59 T3's I bought 5+ years ago.

Change of bulbs is easy when you make up the "Pod" first. Screw the ring on, to hold the bulb in the back cup, then install that assembly.
