    57lug wrench/jack

Does anybody have photo of 57 lug wrench/jack where there is no paint from factory and should be bare metal?

If it is of any help to you, here is the one for my 56. I have a good lug wrench, but I don't believe it is the original one because the length is not per the 56-7 judging manual.

Thanks Tom. I received point deduction at BG this summer. I believe I was told the piece on the end of the jack screw should be unpainted. Yours is painted as is mine

Well, don't tell anyone, but I painted mine many years ago, and it hasn't been used since, EXCEPT to test it to assure it works.
Now, with that said, it seems to me that I once understood that the jack and lug wrench were painted by dipping------------although I don't know that for sure. John Hinkle may have a better answer for that. Thus, IF they were dipped, then they would be completely covered with paint.

The "piece at the end of the jack screw" is a bit unspecific. I'm guessing you are talking about the bearing (collar) on the threaded shaft. Every documented original that I have seen over the past 40 years had that bearing painted. Most reproductions are not. There are judges who may not be aware of that.

David, I am not with my 57 now but it has original jack and tools with original paint. I do not recall any unpainted areas. Steve

I agree with Mike E. that the bearing is painted black as stated in the judging manual. My 57 bowtie car also has the bearing painted black and the end that accepts he crank handle is painted black also. Dave
