Who makes the best radio speaker for a 62 stock wonderbar radio. I was told If I do not get the correct ohm's it could damage radio

The ohm of the speaker is important but is only one factor in the formula used to match the impedience. The coil on the speaker is not a transformer and was never meant to transform anything. It is selected to match the impedience of the speaker to the radio's output circuit. An accoustic engineer worked out the formula for the speaker and the associated radio. Back in the 60's he also used a sliderule! Several radio repairmen over the last 10 years have used that "ohm" thing to scare people into using their services! Another scare tactic used is "we have replaced all the capacitors in the radio". They should have replaced all the "electrolitic capacitors" in the power supply but replacing the ceramic capacitors would be fruitless and time consuming.

I've used his speakers in a '67 and most recently a '60, both with stock radios.

If you need original, by a correct used one and have it re-coned. i've used this rebuilder and very pleased.

I also put the elctro-tech's in my '69 which has the orginal (never rebuilt) FM radio (not stereo). They fit correctly and faithfully reproduce that awful '69 sound. :-) No problems so far but I rarely turn the radio on.

I have an additional question concerning installation: The AIM shows a rubber bumper (part #3710206) that I have never been able to find. Does anyone have picture of an original? Does anyone know of a source (or reasonable replacement) for this part?

Just installed new speaker and WOW, did not realize my wonderbar radio could sound so great and the volume would blow you out of the car. Did not know they had that much power. thanks for letting me know about the speaker.

Does Jackson Speaker Services in Jackson Michigan repair '63 Corvette radios? Contacted Jerry Rudbeck but he does not to work on any Canadian radios. Dont know what the problem could be we have lots of US dollars. Just thinking of someone closer to border. Thanks
