Auxiliary Hardtop Code

Gentlemen:

I'm considering the purchase of an auxiliary hardtop for my '66. The rear plexiglass is marked "AS-4". What specifically does this mean and is it of any importance? Would any year '65 - '67 hardtop fit a '66? I need to know ASAP as I would like to purchase ASAP! Please respond directly to me at KMack7@aol.com

AS 4 is correct my 66 has AS 4 L E (Dec, 65) you should see a date code also

I think the "AS 4" is the manufacturer standard specification. According to the tables in the '65 Tech Manual, this translates to May of 1965, with upper RH being the month code and the lower left corner being the year.

65-67 will fit but 65 had a different material headliner.

"AS-4" is the industry-standard designation code for a plexiglass back window; has nothing to do with the date.
