1956 and 1957 Engine Paint Color???

I do not have a 1956/67 NCRS Judging Manual and need some guidance. As I understand it 1956 Chevrolet passenger car engine and Corvette engines were painted red and 1957 engines were painted orange... correct???

If so, was there a factory running change over date when the engines went from being painted red to being painted orange for the 1957 model year. I have an engine date J56 that will be put into a 1957 Corvette and need to know if it should be red or orange.

James, from the Fifth Edition TIM & JG: "Engine Color 1956 Corvette engine color is red except possibly the last few weeks of production, which may be orange; 1957 engines are painted orange. Engines were painted with passenger car type front mount brackets to secure the engine to a shipping crate for transport to the factory." Steve
