LT1 hood question

Does the LT 1 hood have more vertical air cleaner clearance than a stock sb hood ? If so how much ?

I would say no, the hood has only a slight rise in the front away from the air cleaner. The hoods were for the most part just styling.

Yes, it does. How much I do not know. I don't know if a 68-72 stock style hood would clear an LT-1 engine installation. However, the LT-1 style hood was also used on big blocks. A 68-72 stock-style hood will not clear a big block installation; a big block hood is required.

Right again Joe. About 2" or so & tapers back slowly to the cowl where it is flat like the SB hood.
