    PCV valve

    is there supposed to be an actual pcv valve on my 1964 corvette if so where would it be? hose from oil fill tube to carb. and hose to air cleaner to crank case only no actual valve in place.

    No PCV valve was used on 1964 Corvettes. There was a positive crankcase ventilation system but no actual valve was used. Instead, a "calibrated orifice" was used.

      The PCV configuration depends on which engine you have - the 250hp and 300hp engines use a restrictor fitting where the hose from the oil fill tube connects to the rear of the carburetor baseplate (Assembly Manual, UPC 6, sheet C3.00), and the L-76 365hp engine uses a different restrictor fitting on the driver's side of the Holley carburetor main body.

        Early 64 FI cars used an AC 590 PCV valve. Early units were basically left over '63 units. From about Dec 63 on no PCV valve was used on the FI units.
        '64 carb cars didn't use any PCV valve.
