65 drive shaft

I just got my drive shaft cleaned and noticed it does not have any balance weights welded on . Did all drive shafts have a balance weight or were some good enough they didn't need it ?

Some did not have added weights. Look for evidence of spot welds where weights once were affixed. However, even if you find them, that does not necessarily mean that the weights have been lost or "shed". They may have been removed in a previous balancing operation, including the original factory balancing operation. If you find no evidence of spot welds, though, then you know there were never any balance weights used.
