how difficult is it to have a Harrison Radiator core replaced? Can the Tanks be straightened (dings / dents removed when re coring)? Any recommendations on who can restore one? Thanks, Steve

Re: Big Block Harrison Radiator repair questions ?
I am not sure of the availability of cores any more, but if they are available there is no reason your local radiator shop cannot do the job. It is real old-school stuff, so you want to find a hunched over gray haired old guy to do it.If you have a local radiator shop you will have the advantage of communicating with them directly and no shipping.
BTW: If you have the tag with the broadcast code (tag with two letters on it crimped to the right hand -passenger side - end tank) still attached be sure the shop reinstalls it in the same location more or less. Also if you still have the right angle drain fitting and the hex plug retain those as well. There is a strong temptation to replace the drain assembly with a pet cock. Also the "spreader bars" on the top and bottom have rectangular holes near the end of the bars. Retain those bars also. All of this is no consequence if you do not intend to have the car judged, but in any case, if these parts are not attached to the radiator hang on to them for the next owner. We are only custodians of these cars for a limited time.Terry- Top
