      Michael,

Suggest you speak with Mark Tulley. Mark's a fellow NCRS member and a subject matter expert on lifts. Mark is a member of this forum and he's listed in the Community Member pull down list.

Main thing is make sure whatever you buy is SAFE and certified! A 2 post lift is not ideal for storage.

      4. Have had two shops:
      # 1 - had 10 ft studs for an inside height of 10' 4 1/4", with 1/4" plywood ceiling. 2 post lift symmetric with tray on the floor to cover the inter post hydraulic hose and cable. This was a 7,000 lb lift. Used hydraulic jack fluid.
      # 2 - had 12 ft studs for an inside height of 12' 4 1/4", with 1/4" plywood ceiling. 2 post lift asymmetric (with the inter post hydraulic hose and cables overhead. This was a 12,000 lb lift. Used automatic transmission fluid.

With a C1/C2 on the lift; Lift # 1 would adequately work for a 6 ft tall or shorter person, Lift #2 will also work for an over 6 ft person under the car.

C4 and up have a lower ride height and require a lift point adapter. One of my friends used a BMW lift point adapter until the Corvette J43625 Lift Pad Adapter was available.
