I want to replace the the switch but not the tumbler, how do I get these apart?

You place a pin in the small hole in the key bezel and push in, turn the key I believe counter clockwise t should come out.

John,

You have to remove the lock cylinder first. As suggested below use a pin or paper clip with one end straightened out, with the key inserted and rotated fully counterclockwise, with continued CC turning pressure when pushing in the paper clip. That will let you pull out the lock cylinder. After that you remove the peripheral lock ring that retains the switch in the dash. Then pull out the switch from the back side. Hopefully you have a functional key in order to perform step 1.
