Calendar doesn't work out does it guys. I mean we just celebrated NY's Eve 2013 10-11 days ago. Now Next week a 2015 is coming out????

In a conversation with Dave McLellan a month or so ago (at the tech Session in Ohio) I asked him if that length of time was deliberate -- that car was on something like 20 car magazine covers. They all were on display at the Museum for a while, and might still be. With that narrow smile of his Dave just; said 'Of course.' His eyes were twinkling remembering those days.

hat worked for them then. They are going with a winning strategy.

Looks pretty nice, but not much on the outside that is different. But nice to have over 600 HP and a SC Corvette available again. No word about whether they will offer the engine build experience though.

8 Speed automatic is interesting...Not that I would buy one....You can bet all the car magazines will tell us which one is faster. Auto or Manual?

The coverage left much to your imagination. Not much on specs. They only showed a shot of the car for 10 seconds.

This is the new Z06 Folks, check out the paddle sifters on the steering wheel and the P letter in the instrument cluster. Will this Z06 have an automatic or a dual clutch option?

"Scooped" from the '15 Z06 reveal:

- 8L90E 8-Speed Automatic available! Only 600+ hp supercar available with either fully Automatic or fully Manual shift transmissions
- Steel torque tube replaced with woven c/f
- 60% more rigid chassis, with roof on, than C6 Z06
- 2.2" wider front track
- 3" wider rear track
- Wheel and tire sizes from C6 ZR1
- 3 levels, with varying degrees of aero downforce, with the Z07 version having more d/f than any production car GM's tested in their wind tunnel
- Compact 1.7L supercharger capable of 20,000 rpm and 9.5 psi of boost
- Pre-production versions set lap records @ Milford, beating ZR1 lap times

I'm not there yet, nothing would beat a manual IMO.

I would not be too sure of that in this computer age. I saw a video of the launch control on your ZR1. It's pretty impressive, the auto could probably do a better job of managing the traction then with a clutch. As pointed out earlier in this thread...Physics is working against us with RWD. There only so much you can do with street tires driving the rear wheels only. I'd like to think perhaps somewhere GM is testing an AWD Corvette.

They did show a nice tribute to the Z06 while the car was on route to COBO hall. It's funny when folks see my '01 Z they always say it was the first year. I reply nope the second, '63 was the first.

It would have also been cool to see in person the 50 C7's lined up behind Z06. I'm sure a few Cell phone videos will be on the web that captured that moment.

From this angle the body looks much different than a regular C7. The lip on the front wheel opening is not on a standard C7 I believe. How many scoops and vents does that damn thing have?

I have friends in their forties that have never owed Corvettes getting in line to buy C7's. It's great how well received the car is.
