I recently purchased from an NCRS member what was reportedly verified as an original '64 jack. Upon receipt, it has all the correct dimensions and configuration of the screw, bearing and trunions, except the top plate is flat and does not have the Ausco "A" and hole in it. Further, the base plate has only 1 hole, not 2 (another Ausco supplier identifier). Is it possible there could have been a second supplier, other than Ausco, for the '64 early jacks?
The judging manual points out the Ausco identifiers, so if I restore this jack and have it in my car for judging, am I wasting my time, money and judging points?
