It's been discussed here numerous times. Check the archives if you're interested. I think most regular TDB participants realize it's an expensive solution to a non-problem and that GM specifically does not recommend propylene glycol coolants in any vehicle ever produced.

The best coolant for vintage Corvettes to provide freeze protection, and particularly corrosion protection, is a 50/50 blend of G-05 and distilled water.

There is also discussion of distilled water use in the archives and hopefully all the myths that it will destroy your engine when mixed with proper antifreeze have been put to bed.

That is exactly why I mentioned it. There are new members that might need the education against the myths.

I really don't think that Dex Cool is that bad. I would not use it in an application that has a copper/brass radiator or heater core, but for applications with aluminum radiator and heater core, I think it's fine. I have had no problems with it in my 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. In fact, when I drained and flushed the coolant, it appeared PERFECT. No sludge or discoloration, at all. There was some "sludge" in the coolant recovery reservoir, but that's all. When I removed the thermostat to replace it, I also noted that the visible internal engine surfaces were 100% free of rust. I was actually a little surprised.
