Does my 1966 C2 327/350 have a manual or electric fuel pump from factory? THANKS

    Hi and THANKS, Nick:

Does my 1966 327/350 have a manual or electric fuel pump?
(Hi performance yes, but no "clicking sound" on fire up.)

Problem: prior poor performance at take off; now, won't start ( no gas in jets or bowl)
    Thanks, Nick

PS.: If electrical, should I hear it like on my ADD ON electric fuel pump on my 1970 Impala?

    Nick------

The first Corvette to be originally equipped with an electric fuel pump was 1982. No Corvette prior to that time was originally equipped with an electric fuel pump----absolutely NONE.

Nick, check your gas lines starting at the tank to insure they're clear. Also the filter in your fuel inlet on the carb. If all is clear, consider either a rebuild or replacement of your fuel pump.

Follow the fuel line from the carburetor down and see if there is a pump bolted to the block on the passenger side front of the engine, this will tell you if the mechanical pump is there.

Today's fuel will evaporate in the float bowl if the car is allowed to sit idle for a while, after you crank the engine a few revolutions are you saying there is no fuel in the carburetor. You should be able to tell by the accelerator pump shot moving the throttle. When is the last time the engine had a tune up?

Nick, unless some one installed a elec. pump in place of. the mechanical pump is factory. and yes if electrical pump it should be the same as your impala (click -click). My advice is give the engine a shot of ether and see if it tries to start. Its possible in your area to have a frozen fuel line if there is any water in tank or supply line. This should help you decide which direction to go. don't forget the fuel filter its possible it could be plugged, also take a flash light and look into tank for debris or water on the bottom this will give you an idea of the tank health, To much debris will cause engine running problems.
