    1954 Parking Brake Flasher

I have a new tung sol emergency brake flasher 642 which is for a 12 volt system using a #57 single contact lamp (little bulb). I would like to use this in my 1954 6volt system but not sure of the lamp that I should use with it. My flasher has a large double contact lamp socket totally different from the #57. It is my understanding that to get the correct "blink" of the flasher I need to match the 6volt lamp in my system to the same current draw oft the #57 12-volt lamp.

Anyone have experience in cross referencing the lamps....I have not had any luck figuring this on the Sylvania site. Not important at this point if the blink rate is off a bit since I am not going for judging right now. Just want something functional.
    Thanks
    John

It may be easier and cheaper to acquire a 6V flasher. The 632 flashers which came out in 1953 are relatively expensive but the 619 6V flashers from 1952 are not. You might even find a 610D flasher from 49-51. All should work.
