    Seat Belt anchors

I purchased a C2 that was frame off restored all except for interior. I plan on finishing the interior. My big problem is the seat belt anchors were not installed when body was remounted to frame. The frame is a 65 with gussets welded to cross member and side rail. There is not enough clearance to slide the outer anchors in place. Can I cut the rear curl flange on the anchors to slide along the side rail or will this create a safety problem? Any suggestions on what else can I do to install the outer seat belt anchors

Are referring to the cables or the brackets that are riveted to the body? On my 65 coupe, I removed the cables before I removed the body and re-installed them after the body was back on the frame. I don't remember it being an issue.

One of the considerations is how many shims were installed between the body mounts and the body. The more shims the more room you have to install to brackets.

Mine were a mess also, I cut the head of the rivet off inside the car, pushed the remaing part out then the old bracket came out. Unless the body is off the car you can only install the new brackets with Pop-rivets.

I do not wish to remove body from frame. There does not appear to have sufficient clearance to install outer brackets. What if I modify brackets to fit? Any suggestions?

David, even if you could slide the outer braces into place, how do you intend to attach them to the fiberglass floor?

They will Pop rivet in. This is what I did until I did the body-off.

I will try to squeeze them in place and then pop rivet. Thanks for the advice. Still learning with the help of others.
