    missing paint on air cleaner base

    I was cleaning off years of gummed up gasoline off my 69 ' s air cleaner base and found a strip about an inch wide and 3 inches long of paint missing. I assume it's original to the car. Is this common?

      Yes, it's where it rested on a rack when it was painted.
