The gas tank has to be removed for flight judging.

Oh right, so the tank sticker can be judged, but not ones prior to '67 right?

There is no reason for a judge to touch someone's Corvette! They should have more respect for the Corvette and the owner. Judges have been observed laying over the fenders. That should never be tolerated by the Team Leaders or the National Judging Chairman!

If you meant the Gas Cap I understand...even tho its Taped on per Fire Marshal regs BUT if you Really meant The Gas Tank THEN either its a typo or you have very strange sense of Humor; as I know you can see OLA logo thru The fuel filler opening if Cap is off, so why remove the tank??? If thats True I'd plan to be at the Judging an Extra Day as thats how long it took to remove and replace my Tank...so ....the Cap can come off but The Tank Will Have to STAY...heheh Thanks

I understand a new judging classification is in the offing. To be called "Excalibur" it will require the car to be completely disassembled on the judging field. This will include complete disassembly of the engine, transmission, differential, interior, etc, etc. Master judges will then scrutinize every individual part for originality and condition. No stone will be left unturned. Cars with a score of 99% will receive the "Excalibur" award. All cars must be re-assembled by the owner and removed from the judging field no later than the end of the event.

                      Yes, I'm just joking. I get to kid once-in-awhile, don't I?

Re: Parts Removal for Flight Judging

A few years ago Roy asked that other parts, oil cap, rad cap, battery caps, gas cap, dip sticks, power steering caps to remain in place.
So... what happens if/when I gently remind the judges that these items' originality CAN be determined without removal? Example: a gas cap can be determined by the welds of the finger tabs.

I believe Gene Manno touched on the parts removal issue while he was teaching the Carolinas Advanced Judging School back in April. Gene, please refresh my memory as to what you pointed out.
