    1962 Assembly Instruction Manual

Does anyone have a1962 Corvette Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM) from EARLY production prior to March 1962?

The page I am interested in is numbered B207, section 313, sheet 3.00 in my AIM, and addresses components of the Powerglide Transmission. This page was revised twice; 7-3-61 & 3-7-62. I would like to get a copy of this page at least pre-revision 3-7-62 for a project I am working on. If anyone can help, do it here, send a PM, or contact me at jgmattson@hotmail.com.

      Terry,

Wouldn't the Section Number & Sheet Number of the AIM remain the same as original regardless of how any vendor numbered the pages in any reprint?

        John,
I was going to comment on that, but I am unfamiliar with that numbering system. I am more familiar with the C2/C3 page numbering system that uses a UPC code and a sheet number. If the section number and sheet number are the equivalent of the UPC code and sheet number then you are correct.

My copy of the '62 AIM is from Mid America and is dated 1977. I remember I got it pretty early. My copy has the same 3-7-62 Revision level.

Check the Equivalent sheet from the 1961 AIM for content.

Loren has a good idea, and because of that, he made me look in my '61 AIM.....
              P2120021.jpg
              But........
              313 - 3.00 is safety switch and control lever bracket for '62, but it's 313 - 4.00 in the '61 AIM

And........ lots of differences in the designs. Different safety switch, and didn't they reverse the direction of the shift lever or something like that? I see the indicator plates are different, and lever locations are reversed.

John, What exactly do you need information for?

Major changes between 61 and 62 power glides. Cast iron to aluminum. Shifter bracket vs. shifter bolts to side of tail shaft. Etc, etc.

                    Rich,

The Aim page you have pictured is the cast iron powerglide, completely different from the aluminum case 2-speed powerglide for the 1962 model.

The reason I am looking for this information is to identify the neutral safety switch control rod prior to its revision, and that the revision control rod never made it to production. I have a lot of this info right now and thought if a pre-revision page exists somewhere and is available I would like to see it. This is information that will probably be Restorer bound someday.
