This e-mail from Jim Gessner was copied from the Yenko Supercar website......"Jack's wife Keren was killed this morning in a freak accident. She fell down a long flight of stairs at Philadelphia airport. Jack called me a 7AM Pacific from Phoenix airport. He was on his way home when he was greeted by US Air personal and told 20 minutes before. He is on his way back to Philadelphia as I write this. Updates as I get them. "

Note: I have learned the accident was not at the airport but at the home of a friend. Keep Jack and Keren's family in your prayers.

I have known Karen and Jack for many years now. Karen would light up any room she entered just a fun to be around person just like Jack. Karen will be sorely missed. To Jack my heart felt sorrow for your loss of your wife, friend and partner.

I did not know either of them but, of course, my sincere sympathy.

Something for all of us to keep in mind: as we age, falls become one of the major dangers we face. Not only is the danger of it occurring greater, but the injuries sustained also much greater. We need to exercise extreme caution when going up or down stairs and always use the banister. Having something in your hands, especially something that obscures your vision, is absolutely to be avoided. Also, stay off ladders.

I've had several friends in the last year that have suffered falls, including falls down stairs, that resulted in serious injury. Fortunately, none were fatal. In fact, one of my friends who fell down the stairs in his 3 story house is seriously considering selling his home of 30 years and moving to a single story residence.

Jack is one great fellow and my heart aches for him.

Karen was a flight attendant for US Airways (former Piedmont) and I had the pleasure of flying with her on several occassions. She was smart, funny, kind and so far out in front of me on most everything, I was always playing catch-up. Jack called me, this morning, to tell me Karen always enjoyed flying with me. That means more to me than any words I could ever find to describe.

I met Jack and Karen at thee Knoxville show when it was still in the tobacco warehouse. She was always the bright spot anywhere she was. May she Rest In Peace. May the Peace of the Lord be with Jack and the family

Quite a shock. Jack was just at my house last weekend. I new him thru my vintage karting assoc. but also new he is well respected in the NCRS community. I never met Karen but spoke with her on numerous occasions. I know she was a great person and Jack will miss her deeply. Sending my deepest sympathy again. R.I.P. Karen
